Last year proved to be a great one for Angel with:
- An endorsement deal with Q-Ray inonized bracelets and a feature position in the company’s infomercial.
- Numerous concert appearances, including opening for Sawyer Brown.
- Recording and performing new material.
- Shooting her first music video.
On Her Own Terms
As she’s done her entire life, Angel is forging her musical identity honestly and on her own terms. Born and raised in Kansas City, Angel comes from strong musical roots. Her family remembers the year she got up to sing at a family reunion. She was only three or four, and while the other kids chose church songs, Angel belted out Hit the Road Jack.
Angel sang in her mother’s restaurant, where she developed her confidence and stage presence. She also found her voice in country music and discovered her dream of singing to fans that connected with her music.
Flying Blind shows she’s an artist to be reckoned with. She chose the material herself, knowing that if she found songs that meant something to her, they would mean something to her audience.
“I had to love these songs,” Angel says, “because my heart and soul is in that album. It is me.”
She found some good ones, written by some of Nashville’s best writers. You may not have heard of them, but you’ve heard their songs: I Hope You Dance, In My Daughter's Eyes, This Kiss and Why Haven’t I Heard From You Lately, to name a few.
But it’s not just the songs, it’s her voice. It’s tough in places and tender in others, and you can hear the passion in every note.
Listen to her CD, or catch her live, and you’ll discover why Angel’s best days are ahead of her, and it looks like 2008 is going to be her best year yet!
